not bad, now just to get the money to make the new computer
|
Not too bad. I just bought about the same for my parents. It was around $200 minus harddrive, agp video (had onboard) and CDRW.
That could add up to $300...think you should have asked for like $325. |
I sold my old comp for 300

in todays market of 399 dells computers
most people do not have the knowledge of pcs enough to buy what they need so 80% of them get the cheapest they can find. so dell and others selling pcs for 399 has killed the private markets of selling i know this i use to built pcs on the side. i would make a custom pc 1.4ghz 2 yrs back and sell for 600 nowadays i can not even sell one cause ppl are like well dell sells them cheaper, see they understand cheaper by they do not understand that i put top end chips in my machines a ton of ram and big harddrives and that dell uses celerons 256meg shared ram a old 40 gig hdd in there low end crappers. so if you sold it for 300 then i say u did good not too high and not giving it away.plus your machine is a couple of yrs old. |
I agree with retarfd.. People that are buying thoes dell's and e-machines are headed down a road of problems. With computers you pay a price for reliability and speed. At leaset they might see that next time. Someone I know did, took a baseball bat to his e-machine after 4 months and asked me to build one heh..
Sold him my old one $500 (little pricy but he offered) AMD 2800+ 1gb crucial ram 80gb HDD ATi 9700 Pro Abit AT7-MAX2 MB DVD Burnder and CDRW. Plus I have a nice software bundle :) He said he'd never buy from another company again :) |
yea my dad is one of those guys retarfd he buys a new comp every year in fact he JUST bought that p.o.s. dell computer but with a slick LCD monitor, which i think is why people get them.

custom all the way my last one i got from mirco center :( but it makes a good backup
|
I was making up a quote today for a gamer computer. It's not the hottest, but it'll play BF2 on high easy, plus it can be upgraded to the moon. Anyway, beautiful system, minus kb and mouse, less than $1000.
I went to Dell's website and built one as similar as possible (it ended up with a higher frequency cpu), which came out to almost $2500. What a ripoff. And the best part is, even though it should have been faster than mine, mine could blow it out of the water so easily. |
Very interesting
|

|
