Maybe they are colorized. They have done that to black and white film.

EDGE 06-09-2005 01:50 PM

the pics were digitally colorized :s

atholon 06-09-2005 01:51 PM

I wouldn't put it past the germans though. ;)

They invented the first jet.

Nope they are real, color photos (film, or plates) existen just not the method to print them in color (develop them in color) it was done through filters and then the film (plate) it self. These plates have been stored and reused to "dvelop" these photos. You're right in one way, its done in computers mainly.

First color photos existed in 1907 :) Or actually 1906 but then it was done through red, blue and green filters :)

in the posts over there it says they were digitlally colorized.

Yes, I have read the thread. They are color photos and not digitaly colorized.

:| Maybe we should have let the germans take over the World, we'd have a lot more technology if they had color film in the 40's.

they were probably black and white film snapshots digitally colorized like with a computer program or something.

SilentTrigger 06-11-2005 03:34 AM

Err, color film existed in 1907, those pictures are taken sometime after or near 1915 so it had existed for almost 10 years already, what happened with computers under 10 years?

Also its known that the french frequently took color photos during the first world war :)
