Nope they are real, color photos (film, or plates) existen just not the method to print them in color (develop them in color) it was done through filters and then the film (plate) it self. These plates have been stored and reused to "dvelop" these photos. You're right in one way, its done in computers mainly. First color photos existed in 1907 :) Or actually 1906 but then it was done through red, blue and green filters :) |
in the posts over there it says they were digitlally colorized.

Also its known that the french frequently took color photos during the first world war :) |
