i cant get it to work :(
this was ages ago but i would like to get back into php scripting.
i was thought i had installed MySQL, PHP and apache in the right way, but when i ram a test php file, it didnt work. :/ does anyone know a really good site that helps you through the process of setting everything up? |
did you edit the apache startup config file and add -D PHP4 to the options list?
On my system that is located in /etc/conf.d/ named apache2 Look for APACHE2_OPTS="" and add -D PHP4 to the list, ie APACHE2_OPTS="-D PHP4" |
Or you can install easyphp :)
yeah even i got easyphp to work :D
You need to download an english pack for the errors though.
Mine are all in french  |
Easy PHP works, i don't use it though, I simply upload it to my website.
do i need anything else? apache? mysql?
nope
easy php should come with those.. |
I had a bit of a problem with the latest version of php and apache 2 on linux, so i just got back to the version 4 stable release. Worked like a sharm :) was quite a while since i installed it on windows though (or actually 3 weeks ago but that was an older version of both php and apache and that was alot easyer then the never versions, seems to still be quite buggy at times.
Yeah EasyPhp is really nice. It is so simple to use.
why is it all in french???
Also try phptriad, its in english, don't think that package has been updated in ages though, haven't used it in a long time so it might have been updated.
The people that made it are french i guess? There is a file you can download that makes it english though.
you just have to get through the french install.. then you can change it to english.. you don't need to download any language packs
i really hate to ask but were can you down it from? EasyPhp
