I need help...getting too old

Do you find you just can't remember how to do certain things? I do, and it's driving me nuts!!! I need to make an address book in word so I can print off tons of labels but with each different address. Anyone remember how to do that? I can't even find it on Google:|

I'm going to need a cane after while...then my hair will go grey...argh.

What are you using Word?

Dr. Bullet 04-06-2005 09:19 PM

I didn't install that feature:D

Thanks guys. I'm refreshed :)

And to think, I'm word certified :p

atholon 04-07-2005 09:38 AM

So am I, I have not used Word Xp since 2003

Dr. Bullet 04-07-2005 09:56 AM

:D

Well it's just so easy...any fool could walk in and get office certified...granted I knew more then, but I've been exiled to the land of troubleshooting computers...I type instructions and letters in word, and that's it. This is the first time I've needed to use its mass mailing capabilities, though I have done it for the sake of doing it.

It's like DOS. I few years ago, I could pilot DOS like a pro. Now, show me a command prompt, and it takes me a couple seconds to figure out just how I'm going to do something.

EDIT: I just realized that was over 10 years ago:eek:

:| Most stuff I learned I just was messing around with stuff. Like in Word if I wanted to learn how to format something one way I would go to the different tabs on their till I found what I wanted. What an easy program.

I like Office Xp better than Office 2003. I wonder if they are going to release a new office with Longhorn.

Dr. Bullet 04-07-2005 10:14 AM

Probably. I haven't tried 2003. XP works good enough :)

atholon 04-07-2005 10:33 AM

I just hate how they make programs so dependant on the web. What is going to happen when the program is old and the pages have been moved?

I also hate how power point for 2003 is set up. I it is much more limiting than Xp.

Dr. Bullet 04-07-2005 10:39 AM

Yeah, no kidding. Even the downloads. They have downloads for stuff (eg DirectX), and it's like prefetch. You have to connect (again) and let it download the actual files. Drives me insane!

I like to keep a collection of updates and downloads like that because I use them so much, it's just easier to pop in a cd and have things like WMP 9 or 10, XP SP2, IE, etc...especially if I'm in a hurry, and I can't wait for their awful download rates, plus all the spyware I get from their site...

atholon 04-07-2005 12:09 PM

I just look for network admin downloads of DirectX and such ;)

Stu 04-07-2005 01:50 PM

I do it all the time, and i'm 13 :p
