I don think thats possible to be honest with you mate, I think your stuck with them, furthermore if you take them off and your site gets exampned by the geo admins, then your account could be at risk of deletion because the service is free :gj:

Plus when you signed up with them you gave them the right to display the ads (if I'm understanding the terms of service agreement)

Now days, it's better to just find a cheap host. You will work a long time on your geocities, then remove the ad's and your hard work will be all gone again.

There are plenty of cheap hosts out there that charge very little for alot.

go to www.fragism.com i think, they offer free hosting with no ads for squad sites, then just go to clantemplates.com and get a free template then your all set.

Or use the nerd hq button in my sig. They give 15 megs free, no ads, complete with CP. 15 megs ought to be plenty for a site :)

atholon 04-04-2005 11:08 AM

:) there are other free ones like completefreehost.com or something like that.

Dr. Bullet 04-04-2005 11:10 AM

Yup...also, see this thread: http://www.novahq.net/forum/showthre...&threadid=1541

I need sites that have pagebuilders that work as good as geocities but better!!! I dont like typing html so i like bulding my site with a pagebuilder. I need sites that offer sitebuilder programs like pagebuilder on Geocities with no ads and has free hosting package!!!!!!

Dr. Bullet 04-04-2005 02:38 PM

Why don't you get dreamweaver of frontpage? Or even Word? Don't let people tell you Frontpage is crap. It's very good software, and you can make great sites with it :)

atholon 04-04-2005 02:43 PM

Trellix Web is what I used to use. It was pretty nice ;)

Dr. Bullet 04-04-2005 02:46 PM

It's ok, but it's very very limiting. But definately a no-brainer when it comes to websites. One problem with Trellix is you have to use a host that supports it :(

DevilDog#1 04-04-2005 02:48 PM

Sorry ... never used a site that had built-in pagebuilding program. I started with Dreamweaver :PIMP:

atholon 04-04-2005 02:50 PM

Trellix was the host :|

Anywho...

I am a big boy now and I use notepad and PS7.

Dr. Bullet 04-04-2005 02:55 PM

Lol. What do you use PS for (other than making the graphics)?

Probally slicing it, thats what i'd use it for if i was in the postion, and am

atholon 04-04-2005 05:05 PM

Well I design the whole thing in ps2 like gfx and then convert it into html with gfx. It is a lot easier to make templates that way...for me... then I know what it is supposed to look like so HTML is easier.

homestead has an inbuilt site builder, but your paying for it and got get the fun stuff like php or mysql.
