same prob here :( http://www.novahq.net/forum/showthre...threadid=21638

and here :(
http://www.novahq.net/forum/showthre...threadid=18425

generally caused by a virus or spyware

answer here :

there is quite a lot of ppl with this problem with many diff software.

here is the knowledgebase article @ microsoft > http://support.microsoft.com/default...en-us%3B324767

there is a number of solutions there.

generally it happens when there is a problem with autoexec.nt being corrupt it seems.

i think the only definate solution is to reinstall XP :/

the file can get corrupted by viri and i think also spyware as some ppl's spybot keep deleting the file.

this thread >> http://www.webuser.co.uk/cgi-bin/for...b=6&o=93&part= explains a bit more on how to do the fixes suggested my microsoft.

there is lots more reading here >> http://www.google.com/search?q=c:%5C...8&start=0&sa=N

hmm you copied all the files across?

if this doesn't work, then you might not be able to install anything at all.

sorry i did not read this sooner

here you go place the two .NT files into System32 folder then start>run type in CMD clink-ok after type exit now restart your system to desktop your error crap be no more.

it do work

there no need to restill windows Xp family at all. you basic be placing good working files back in.

got my Rainbow six instill without any error's 16bit had to think what all that info they had up? so i made it really eassyer to do.
http://www.novahq.net/pub/sigs/1079_1109832678.jpg

only use this if you getting the same error message above and running Windows Xp family SP2

there a text inside with info on how to do it.
1.) put the two files inside C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder
2.) then Start>run type in: cmd press enter
3.) then type in: exit press enter
4.) restart your Computer.

now try to instill that game. there should be no more error crap
