TV for monitor

Are there any issues with using a tv for a monitor? I thought I had heard something about resolution or something, but I'm not sure if it was just hearsay. I need to replace my monitor, and since I can get a good, relatively big flat screen for almost the same price, I'd rather just get a tv. Any known issues? It'd be hooking up to a radeon 9800 via s-video.

Thanks:)

I did it once when I took my computer on vacation.

But it was on a 15 inch monitor.

I had to set the resolution smaller and make the font bigger to see. It was fine for the duration of the trip, though still some what fuzzy (refresh rate off maybe?)

Just my experience with it ;-)

the resolution and picture quility are going to be crap. I have my 35inch hooked up but there mirrored. So when i watch movies i dont have to use my monitor, and when i game people can see it :D

TV's have a set frame rate (uk 50Hz).

PC monitors can have variable frame rates and are designed to use high resolutions because you are usually siting only 2-3 feet away. If you have a close look at your TV you will notice the RGB dots ( or dashes ).
