RW or TS
 

Hey, I just got DSL and I am using a router/modem anywho...
Everytime I host RW it gives me my router assigned IP. So no one else can join that IP. What do I do or use so someone can join.

Also is it easier to use TS for broadband because I have not messed with it much.

Just use TS. RW is old and outdated :)

Well, I know you can get free dedicated servers from http://gamersnetwork.us along with a bunch of other stuff. I'm not sure if he is offering them free anymore but you can pop over there and take a look ;)

yeah, teamspeak works wounders, roger-wilco, nah, alot of people have trouble with now.

Ahaha, I found out what it was...you have to forward the ports UDP and TCP and then use the external IP address.

definatly TS roger wilco is like string and two cans compared to team speak

you are something RW has been updated and Gamespy is handling it now days. please look up the info ok before you put your foot into your mouth.

RW is not a feebie ether cost now days.

I used to use RW with one of my squads, and it worked, but TS is lightyears ahead. Quality is awesome, cpu usage is almost nothing, and imo is easier to use than RW.

I use TS2, have a server as well. TS2 does have a good soundquality and is preferred by many squads and people.

However, TS2 may use almost nothing from your CPU but it does use a good amount of your system-resources.
I think RW is a bit more bandwidth-friendly and does not use system-resources as much as TS2.

Ventrilo is another communication-tool which many use.

I recommend TS2 because of their good support forum.
But I guess it comes down to what your mates or squad use.

Ventrilo i instilled some time all go but never really try it out so i can't say to much about it but i hear some good thing about it.
Still testing this one out.

4.) Skype is not all totally free a phone charge service but PC to PC part of it is free to use.

working really good can't say anything bad about it, basic it works the same way as MSN-netmeeting do about the same option are in it.

if it don't work right off the back it crap to me, i don'y like to do the math at all.

you may think this funny but i found the best way to talk to others at lease in the USA is using my Celphone after hours M-Th 9pm-6am friday 9pm-monday6am free no changes at all. mothly fee of 10.00 for the calling after hours alltel. me and my brother Ray we play together all the time i call him up and we do it together and talk. he don't have alltel but i do it still free on my end.

1.) it lock my Mic so it would not work with other software.
2.) i UN-instill it using Add & remove bad thing it did was it totally UN-instill my key broad total disable it i could not use it at all?

i like to record using my Mic some times it lock it out no other software may use the Mic? thats suck and disable my Key broad was totally suck i had to reload the driver back in to get it to work again. i don't need Headaches.

on a good note Rogerwilco is working totally good and it don't lock the Mic so i can record other things using other software.

going to try Ventrilo later on to day.

to me TeamSpeak 2 totally sucks on my end at lease 1-10 10 is for trash it a 100 bad no good for me. totally hate it.

i like to instill something and have it work the first time around without doing the math to getting it to work.

Good note RogerWilco is working 100% good for me, bad note: it not listed in Xfire.

Maybe TS just doesn't like you.:p When I installed it, as soon as it was done installing, I was talking to my mates on our channel...and I could still use windows recorder.

it cool some reason it buggy with me i think i had it working one time like 6mo all go, but this new one Team Speak2 don't like to work good for me.

on a side note: Skype work like netmeeting do you have the dailup number one flat rate world wide and you can call PC to PC not bad seem to be ok no bugs to say about it.

Skype is real big with the halo crowd...I've never used it, but it's supposed to be good.

I like your nights and weekends thing with the cell phone though:D

I use Skype and SkypeOut (Paid VOIP (Voice Over Internet Phone) ) to call (PC to Phone) friends and family all over the world. Works excellect for US, Europe, and Canada but it dies after a while when used to call Middle East, Asia, Far East, and Australia.

Works great for PC 2 PC.

skype is DAMN clear .. i can hear people type and shit on it..
