stuck again lol

lol i need help again.

ive got an Iframe and i want a background to it and the page with the text on, to have a transparent background. ive got...

<IFRAME NAME="center" SRC="images/index_13.gif" WIDTH=480 HEIGHT=548 BORDER="" marginwidth=0 marginheight=0 frameborder=0 scrolling=auto>
</IFRAME>

which is ok. but, when i click on the link, the background of the Iframe goes white??? any ideas?

SilentTrigger 02-15-2005 12:13 PM

a default page is white, transparent ontop of that will still show as white.

.Simon. 02-15-2005 01:12 PM

dammit. so there aint a way of doin it?

Steve 02-15-2005 01:32 PM

i take it you want an image as the background of the iframe, which is effectivley under the text?

what i did was to put the image as the background of the page with text in it, then just make the background non scrolling. then when you scroll down the page to read all the text, the background stays still. it gives the illusion that that text page is transparent.

steve... ur again... a genius. lol cheers man

but... how do i disable scrolling? i know... scrolling="auto". but thats to enable scrolling.

Steve 02-15-2005 02:45 PM

i dont know teh code, but i just looked and found this

<BODY background="" bgproperties="fixed">

looks like it might be the right thing

Steve 02-15-2005 02:45 PM

again i'm not sure but it's possible it works in IE only :/

.Simon. 02-16-2005 04:02 AM

iframes vs php... php :). Sometimes its best to use the inlude statement in php :D
<? include("file.html"); ?>
You will need to make the file your making a php file, which is one down side for some people

JonM 02-18-2005 05:22 PM

<? include("page.exe"); ?> is okay but it won't mkae scroll bars...really depends on what you want :D

Stu 02-19-2005 07:57 AM
