How do you know they send it to you?

mbryan456 06-01-2004 07:36 PM

quite simple, their ip adress from their forum was the same from which my router cataloged during the time of the virus was sent, when i got it i both im'ed them going, what the ****, and they both laughed, they knew they did it, one even mentioned doing it, so **** them. the file was sent using a nova name, the name of the virus was novalogic- |do not want to say the name| and when i looked into the folder closer it had system32 virus.

The reason i do not want to use the name is because they use real novalogic staff of which i know, and they would not do this.

report them, if I can remember, there was an Internet security site that you can get in touch with them and get legal info on what to do. Lemme see if I can find it.

Hellfighter 06-01-2004 09:03 PM

some time people get freebie forums scrip (Waltz) they have a virus to them and if they use it they spread it to any other who log-in. the virus is then uploaded it send out to member of that site. it a old story sorry i do remember hearing some of this some time back about 1-2 years all go.

mbryan456 06-01-2004 09:23 PM

i do not know if you mean like they did it on accident or purpose, but what they did to me was fully intentional

Hellfighter 06-01-2004 10:26 PM

can you name the file name the virus? hit, i can lock it away or block it from getting hit by the virus.

my antivirus program can lock away files into a chest for safe keeping so no virus can get to it.

Systemkaos 06-02-2004 04:28 AM

yea damn those people ;)

SilentTrigger 06-02-2004 04:32 AM

Send the ip to their ISP, works great. They might get thier internet shut down :) Ive done it to people who have abused the internet and they ware cut off.

Most ISPs have strict rules about spreading virus files through their networks. To get their ISPs support line, run their ip through a DNS registry.

Try:

http://www.ripe.net/perl/whois/
http://www.apnic.org/search/index.html
http://www.arin.net/

I had a third but i cant find it, they represent different areas of the world.

EDIT: found the third which represents america

EDIT: note that it might be a "top" ISP, some ISPs have ISPs, so its not allways the bottom one you get though.
Just send them a mail.

Hellfighter 06-02-2004 08:32 PM

SilentTrigger
thats was great information you got there guy. i really hope if they did do it: they be close down for good and never be online again.

it maybe a good ID send a copy of the information you have on them to NovaWorld.com & Novalogic.com to only send information on what you know don't send a copy of the virus and tell them about them using tech support staff real names in their site.

Whois Search engines: "Click-here"

you can call Mike (NovaLogic tech support team manger) on the telephone and tell him about it and ask him if you can send a e-mail to him i bit he jump right on it asap 1-818-878-0325 USA Calif 9am (09:00) - 5pm (17:00) (not a toll-free number make it short as you can)
