are bigger monitors really better?

matters on how good your computer, mainly video i got a ge-force Fx5600 and a viewsonic 19", i got it running at a higher res.at 1280x1024workspace(windows) and 1600x1200 for my games also it helps alot in detail. but alot more work space for working on gfx, webdesign, and editing video
