hard work for your computer?

1.4GHz AMD
Ti4200 geforce 4
768MB RAM

all options on low and res of 1027 x 768

almost unplayable for me, maybe 15 FPS here :/
anyone else have problems?

V99 01-23-2004 07:09 PM

what :O!!! something got to be worng :S! me saw review with some guy using 1.6 AMD, G-fore FX5200 everything on high.... something def worng

Steve 01-23-2004 07:41 PM

some maps are no problem, (sry didnt mention), i did have some settings on high but my computer locked up on one of the multiplayer maps. so i have put the settings on low for all, but i still get a very slow frame rate on most maps.

i cant see that the stock maps would be that heavy but it seems to. i know my computer is not the greatest but it runs every other new game i have played well (UT, NFSU, XIII, LOTR, T3 etc)

Sal UK 01-23-2004 08:20 PM

goto your graphics settings for the graphics card, and see if FSAA is set to off m8 and not set at Application controlled.

Not that I think you should have problems like that with the GeForce 4ti you should be running great.

But its worth a go I suppose, Just to see if it picks up your framerate.
I have AMD 2400+ 2Ghz, 512 ddr and a GeForce FX5200 but the card lets it down, I find online I can only play with a good mouse responce at 800/600 res, with all settings on normal.
But this is for BHD I havent tried TS yet.

Hellfighter 01-23-2004 08:35 PM

ok i have listed (did not find FSAA?)

any tip?
Application settings
X-Application-controlled (checked)

Anisotropic filter
X-Application-controlled (checked)

Refreash rate override:
X-Application-controlled (check)
O-Override refreash rates (unchecked)

Steve 01-23-2004 08:52 PM

AA is always off here ;) performance not quality :D

too many damn trees i think ;) hehe
thanks for replies

Hellfighter 01-23-2004 09:03 PM

think they are making some change's (update) to DFBHD and add-in Team Sabra to NW stats listing (record of stats page). new weapons and all to it.

click-on NW logo see BHD try it not there? next to my sig
http://www.dfhq.net/pub/sigs/1079_1074659513.gif below (LW & TFD is ok BHD Not working)

SAS*PR* 01-24-2004 07:14 PM

are those the setting the game gives you Stevie B? I play at that same resolution, with a

XP2400
GeForce 4 mx440
512mb ddrpc2700 ram

but i have no lag.. even in the 50 player servers.

you have any other apps running? All i have is Zonealarm and Norton Anti virus.

maybe you need some more CPU power, can ur motherboard support a faster CPU?

mind u BHD engine is CPU intensive, u can have a 1.4ghz and a 9800XP and still come up with frame lag.

Steve 01-24-2004 07:26 PM

i think it is the CPU also :/
i really want to upgrade but no cash here right now :( i bought my camcorder istead :D
i thnk the recommended specs is 1.4GHz for BHD (http://www.dfhq.net/forum/showthread...threadid=12553) but minimum is 733 so how can it be bad?

i look after the computer pretty well, NAV, regular defrags, anti spyware, and i dont think anything is running that shouldn't ( at least anything that could be using any CPU).

i'm suprised to say the least that i cannot deal with this game.

my mobo (ABIT KG7 RAID (aaaaaw love this board) can take an AMD2100 which are cheap enough but i just dont see the point in upgrading to that. i could just get a good quality mobo, wack in a 2500 Barton and clock it to 3200 speed without too much trouble :) (but no money lol).

i guess i just have to upgrade as soon as i can afford, need to to play some new games - HL2, DoomIII, FarCry, etc

i reckon i can do without a new GFX card for a little while longer. (dont use AA or high gfx settings on any game).

@ SAS curcial RAM?! ;)

V99 01-26-2004 03:20 AM

well me got:

1.3 AMD Duron
512 Mbs of RAM
Radeon 9200SE 128 mb 4x AGP

everything on Normal works mostly fine just get a lil lag with smoke and lights @ night :)

but me friend got:
1.6 AMD
512 Mb of DDR RAM @ 333 mhz
G-force 5200 FX 128 mb

and he's got eveything on Low and he getting more lag than me, and he pasts me by far in just normal BHD.....
Something is worng with team Sabre its not working right with G-force cards?

Lostcuaz 01-26-2004 05:12 AM

check AA/AF options

StevieB,

There's a couple of things that can slow the game down.

1. screen rez
2. color depth 32/16
3. textures

Then there's AA and AF. This are usually set from your video card program. For my Nvidia card, I had to go in the Performance and Quality menu and ensure that they were turned off. Before, it was set to Application control. AA/AF on makes the jagged lines smooth out....but in most shooters, who's got time to look at the details? :)

As an example, I can run Call of Duty at 1024x768 with everything maxed out within the game settings. However, if I go to the Nvidia menu and turn on AA or AF, then the game turns into a slide show.

Steve 01-27-2004 02:55 PM

i have all options on low, 16 bit colour, and aa forced off :/

Jonathan 01-27-2004 09:35 PM

That's too bad. Sort of reminds me of the computer that I use to run Delta Force 1 on. I had to run it in the lowest rez to get a decent frame rate. It might have 320x200? Whatever it was, was very b-l-o-c-k-y. The enemy looked like black dots running at me. :)

I'm running BHD in 1024 rez with most details on. But it's a little slow in some spots. And that's with an AMD1800, 512mb, and GeForce 3 video card. I'm looking at maybe getting the AMD64 system with a GeForce 5900 video card. This card isn't as fast as 5950 or ATI 9800...but cost 1/2 as much. Plus, I've heard that Nvidia and ATI have some next gen video cards coming out later this year. It'll be interesting to see what they got.

are u going to get the 5900XT? or what eVGA called the 5900SE. Think that's is a great card, faster then the ATI 9600XT, and faster then the Nvidia, 5600, 5700. but for same price.. just a slower memory speed compared to the Ultra version of it.. :)

Junker 01-29-2004 07:44 PM

no problem here...... AthlonXP 2200+ Soyo Dragon KT400 Mobo 1.0 GB DDR 333 RAM Radeon 9800 PRO 128 MB (2) 60 GB SCSI Drives........Runs Like a Champ Wide Open....

Fuzzy 02-02-2004 10:27 AM

i got the same problem, some maps run well.

but some also have verry verry choppy framerate, makes it like almost impossible to aim on some maps - like 10 fps when there's dense fog.

And when there's explosions, it hangs for a while and i even hear the explosion (like when i walk on a clay) twice trough my soundcard because fps almost goes to 0 then for a sec or 2 :(

also when i'm sniping in the grass i cant do a thing cause then the framerate is like 5/6

i already turned all options to low and res to 640x480x32 & AA off, now it runs mostly smooth, but it shouldnt happen...

my system specs are
amd barton 2500+
512mb ram
geforce fx5600

geforce driver version: 45.32

StevieB what about the scale line on top that page listed Image Settings? 1.) High performance 2.) performance 3.) Quality my set at 2.)performance on that scale? is it ok. i disable the AA option

There a new GeForce drive out listed 53.03 go get the updated one been release last Dec, 2004. this is the old one geforce driver version: 45.32 you may not be able to play any DVD (if you have a DVD-player hardware) with it ether update ok you be fine.

Steve 02-02-2004 01:12 PM

middle

Hellfighter 02-02-2004 03:22 PM

thanks StevieB no more skip in the frame working 75% better.

only one thing left get it go to desktop better, it don't like to exit out to fast really slow (desktop chopup a lot) and going to desktop from inside the game, this is really lagging in the partment.
