try to reboot in safe mode ( F8 while computer is booting, before the blue screen of death erm... windows in thid case )

Steve 12-21-2004 06:25 AM

haven't tested this but aparently it will do the trick (delte what u cannot delete) > http://www.diamondcs.com.au/index.php?page=dellater

it looks like hurl.exe is associated with realmedia ( looks like it comes from loudeye.com ) and does not look malicious.

VooDoo- 12-21-2004 11:25 AM

im confused on how you use that program ...do I have to put a filepath somewhere in this thing? the directions are to clear :\

Steve 12-21-2004 11:41 AM

yeah it's not very clear.

Put DelLater in the root, C:

Srart > Run > cmd (to get command prompt)

type

dellater.exe<space>Driveletter\Folderpath\fullfile namewithextension, and hit Enter, to get the popup confirmation.

Then reboot.

e.g.

c:\>dellater.exe c:\readme.txt

then you will get a popup to confirm. then when you reboot the file 'readme.txt' in c:\ will be deleted.

hope that helps a bit

this is also recommended aparently > http://www.webattack.com/get/moveonboot.shtml

probably worth noting if problems:

Quote:

I have found that delater work without problems when put in the windows/system32 directory with XP. when put in the root or just windows directory often XP refuses to recognize it, especially in OEM installs
