Tactics for laggers
 

well i have a modem
lol u r thinking but instead of laughing i would like some advice on how to survive a bit longer or kill a few more ppl.

advice about character, weapon etc is appreciated.

Do what I do. Find a hole and hide.

M4 is a good light, accurate weapon which when you bang the mouse buttons, a bit like trying to get a post to work in here, has a very high fire rate when set to burst.
Quick flick of the switch and you are in shotgun mode, perfect CQB.

I use this now, because you can get the rate of fire so high, that when people are jumping about as you lag, you a spraying as much metal death in their direction as you can that you are bound to hit them.

I use it as a Gunner and have improved A LOT!

Well when i first joined VS, I was on 56K, and so where all the squad, and their advise was for me to go out and buy everyone a cable connection, and that would sort out the lag.......(doh...ive been had again aint I)...:*( :*( :*( :*( :*( :*(

im still waiting for my modem man...come on i need it......

LOL Glad. I got diddled too. 512k download, but only 128k upload.. they dont make that clear in the adverts do they?

You on blueyonder..?...if so whats you d/l speed usually?

I dunno. I am unsure of the ratio, but I am in an area, where i don't think a lot of my neighbours will have it.
I have clocked a 1mb download before now but I have heard Microsoft make it up so their servers look good. :)

Its crap m8.....I average about 30-40 kbs/sec.....no where near as good as the USA cable:*( :*( :*( :*(

i sure as hell dont get any video lag. i got it on 640x400 lol and all settings on minimum to prevent any video lag slowing me down even more. but i just got a job so broad band here i come:D :D :D :D :D :D

Yeah Stick with the MAG SB... I have gone back and perservered... M4 has a tiny magazine and thats a problem...

i must say that i don`t mind laggers anymore...
i am not playing TDM and only DM on snipersonly...or TkotH
the biggest laggers always are the first on the boardsscore...but my style of playing give them no advantage...i simply don`t shoot at laggin`hoppers, but if they rest i try 1-2 shots, if they still don`t die i leave wordless the server
(too much is too much..)

You cannot say that you are a good player that is struggling beacause of lag. You are a good player when you can COPE with lag. Well done.

Ok SB it works 2 ways, as i have an int56K. we lag so you gotta shoot with a lead, if blood comes out and no drop lead a bit more. But cable boys has the other way, they shoot b4 we are there so they have to stall the shot untill the lag catches up. How many times you see a player running across in front of you then disappear than hes back 30 feet running across again, then you know where he is ( as he shooting at nothing) and kill the cable boy. I like the G11 on auto myself for this reason not that i use a gun often or any good with one lol. But one tip i can pass on is drop a few clays in a place they will pass, dont shoot them with a whole clip use one shot and shoot the clay.:p

Goddamn I hate the G11... runs outa mag' before I have chance to zero my shot.
