aol and ping times..
 

just as i suspected AOL seems 2 be rubbish for a decent ping, even tho it downloads 50kb/sec faster than my bt line.. its averaging between 80-120 in bf2142, i read awhile ago about a way 2 reduce it, any ideas?

For UK servers? Thats a hell of a high ping if it is!

reset my connection, went back down to 50.. so im nt sure wot was goin on :-\

80-120ms? Thats pretty decent.. I dont think I have ever played a game online with a 50ms ping.

I usually get 20-50 ping while playing that game, black hawk down i never got below 80, but thats just how the game is created.

yeah, even a ping of under 120 is rare on bhd.. cos of it having to relay all over the place..

one question..you are actually using AOL???

you have to remember all them so call free software AOL given are loaded with adware. hope you did not instill them socall freebie they are melware.

AOL think a bad adware is what they don't get money for a good adware they get paid for it to be use.

if you instill any freebie software from aol other then the AIM best unstill them.

chief, i only got the line switched from BT > AOL, nothing thru the post, no different settings, no software :)

on an average day for me i ping about 60-100 in 2142 servers and i got a pretty good connection for these parts

10mb down and 1 meg up

but it seems to me that a ping anywhere from 150 or lower is a non lag ping for me.

Around 120 on american servers and 10 - 30 on Swedish servers :)
