Templates!

Anyone want to share their secrets to creating templates? The way I do it takes too long and doesn't look very good :|

atholon 05-06-2005 11:28 AM

DD it isn't yours if you buy the template...just not the same.

DevilDog#1 05-06-2005 11:43 AM

I say why work if you can buy it :D Think out of box kiddo :p

atholon 05-06-2005 11:55 AM

Why buy it when you can make it! :p

Dr. Bullet 05-06-2005 12:37 PM

There's two different reasons. DD's reason is that he can afford to buy it. Ath's reason is he can't afford it...hence, he needs to make his own. I'm in Ath's boat :D

DevilDog#1 05-06-2005 12:55 PM

What's wrong with buying?? Supply-Demand. Best thing I ever learned. :p

lol. Guess it depends on how much time you are willing to take. Also depends on what you are focusing on (designing it or coding it).

I like Panther and Steve's set up. Steve makes the layouts and P scripts em.

atholon 05-06-2005 04:30 PM

GeeFuss 05-06-2005 06:29 PM

Heres what I do for a typical project.
1.
- Do research for website and sketchout site map and plans
2.
- Start coding the pages
- Finish the pages
- Test the pages and fix the pages
3.
- Sketchout a design and tryout new colours.
- Expreiment
- Make the design
4.
- Make the pages fit the design
- Test it
5.
- Test it within a number of browsers
- Fix errors
- Work on it
- Test again
- Finish it all so its user friendly
6.
- Release & maintain
- Get feedback from a number of people you know and take the comments into mind
7.
- Release the fixed version and keep it that way!
