So I am making a website...
Managed to get a hold of a PHP Nuke website that I can play around with but there's a small problem.
I have no clue how to make a website! To be short, the website I'm making is going to be for the Marksman Project mod that I've been working on. Essentially, I want to use the website as a hub for showcasing all of my development work, having a place to discuss specifics about the mod, as well as provide a central place for feedback, news, etc. Does anybody have some sort of manual, advice, etc. for these types of websites? I hear they're pretty easy to set up but I'm really short on available time. |
Websites are not exactly easy to setup. You'd probably be best off finding a free template on www.clantemplates.com and using one of those for now while you start learning how to create websites. At least this way you have something to use as a base for your site that you can display your current progression, etc.. These sites also come pre-coded.

Ok thanks. I'm mostly concerned about the forums I have on it right now, as I want that to be a central part of the website.
I don't really know what to do outside of the forums (and on the website itself) which has me concerned. I'm thinking possibly just use the website modules to showcase pictures, news, etc. |
I'm guessing your a spam post, but if not, why would you use Dreamweaver? Code by hand ftw
|
Im just now trying to learn dreamweaver, i used to code by hand but its so much easier being able to view it, besides i'm behind the times now...i only know html, this css stuff is new to me :[

pfft, just save, ftp and refresh :) simples
|
lol Simon, DW is somewhat easier. F5 en see the result for html / css / simple php
|
I've used dreamweaver before, but now I have 2 screens, so it's just as easy for me to code by hand and then refresh my browser on the opposite window. Plus I don't get into lazy habits of using drag and drop code :)
We don't have DW in university, so that's why I don't use it either. We just use Notepad++ so i'd rather get familiar with one program than have to know two. |
