Spazz 06-10-2008 05:33 PM

I powerlift. I'm shooting for state records by 2009.

atholon 06-10-2008 05:44 PM

How do you guys determine how much to lift or what goals to shoot for?

I am lifting but its not very structured.

Any ideas?

Spazz 06-10-2008 05:50 PM

Your goals are for yourself to determine. If you're serious then get on a starting routine like Ripptoe's. Here's a write-up on it.

http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=712752

I train strictly for strength rather than size so my routine is different than a bodybuilder's. I'm also a fan of 4-day splits. Something like mon/tuesday/off/thursday/friday/off/off.

You need to know how to eat, too.

And I'm willing to post pics for any non-believers. I actually look like I work out.

atholon 06-10-2008 06:32 PM

So how do YOU eat?

atholon 06-10-2008 07:59 PM

Woah, I have learnt a lot on that site you linked to.

I am going to try that work out and focus on curls as an accessory exercise on the in between days :)

gotta start eating a lot more stuff too.

tail_gunner 06-10-2008 10:23 PM

I love lifting, nothing like spending 2 hours a day in gym.. I think the best feeling for me is after you work out, your tired but your muscles are bulging lol.

atholon 06-10-2008 10:39 PM

Yah I like that feeling as well. I am past the point where I feel sore the next day. Thank goodness.

tail_gunner 06-10-2008 11:03 PM

honestly to tell you the truth, i did a report on boby building supplements for college (since i weight lift) and lifting with or without protein makes no difference, yea you get more protein but do you really know or want to know what other stuff is in those shakes besides protein lol

and you put on a lot of fat at first when you start taking protein, and you can have problems later like i have taken protein for about 3-4 years in high school (about 2 years ago) and now i have problems with my traggliserrights (i dont know they are spelled) and mine are almost tripled from what they are suppose to be, so it is just a warning on what can actually happen to you when you take a lot of protein.

:D :D :D

Spazz 06-11-2008 06:18 PM

Sharp you honestly have no idea what you're talking about.

Hellfighter 06-11-2008 06:19 PM

sorry i don't beleive in taken any pills, protein powder or power engine drinks to workout with. 100% nature with no extra thing to help one to workout or build up the body.
