Novalogic teams up with Punkbusters

JOINT OPERATIONS: TYPHOON RISING GETS PUNKBUSTER TREATMENT

CALABASAS, CA (April 20th 2004) – Entertainment software developer and publisher NovaLogic, Inc. today announced that they have teamed up with Even Balance, Inc. to integrate the PunkBuster™ Anti-Cheat system into the soon to be released PC game Joint Operations™: Typhoon Rising™.

The move by NovaLogic to include the PunkBuster software in Joint Operations is another positive step in the company’s continuing crusade to stop cheating in multiplayer games, which are played worldwide via the company’s own internet gaming service, NovaWorld (www.novaworld.com).

‘Joint Operations can host huge multiplayer battles online and over LAN, so the need for strong anti-cheat measures is greater than ever,’ commented Joel Taubel, Producer of Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising. ‘Combining PunkBuster and Joint Operations means that we can securely deliver vast modern combat arenas to the public.’

Set in Indonesia in the near future, Joint Ops is set to take the multiplayer community by storm. Developed using NovaLogic’s enhanced Black Hawk engine, Joint Operations uses superior multiplayer technology that enables gamers to play in large scale player games online via NovaWorld.

Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising (PC CD ROM) hits stores on May 18th, 2004.

hopefully this will prove to the nova haters out there that they actually do care about their customers and want them to have a cheat free gaming experience

PB is great but still has a lot of bad things, i know people that can get around PB in battlefield, but just have to wait and see

cash 04-20-2004 05:36 PM

I think this is one of nova's better moves. I'm definitely getting joint ops now.

great you know what i am going to place a order for JO to night for it. pre-order it.

wish all novalogic games had Punkbuster on all them. But JO is a good step in the right direction any way.

BeBop 04-20-2004 08:28 PM

 i think ill buy JO now, i was tellin my friend i wasnt gonna buy anymore nova stuff until they got PB (cuz it works great on games like americas army) and well... they did it :).... to bad they wont go back and put it into there other games like df2 which depserately needs it.

Have fun......BHD was my last cheat fest from them...EVER.

I bought DF2-BHD and enjoyed them with friends, but the fact remains.....those games were runied online and the patches always gave you about a week in the wild of fun play before the cheats started coming in.....

NOVA should have learned from EA and UBI to CDKEY check BEFORE jumping online......not just the CD check for THEIR OWN SERVERS!!!!

LAMO LAMO LAMO.

You guys still run a sweet site for the odds and ends, but let DF die.....its over.

The rest of us have moved on to BF or others.

Again, sorry for the remark if you dont like it,but thats my opinion.....call me a penny pincher.

The rest of us have moved on to BF or others ?

I don't think so - and why are U posting here if you have ?

Warpath*PR* 04-24-2004 02:38 PM

I agree PB is great for stopping cheats. But It has also stopped me from playing several PB enabled games. My system doesn't like PB, it crashes within 5 mins of starting a game. I emailed PB for support, but they couldn't help me.

So I'm stuck turning PB off and playing with cheaters until I can afford to buy a new system. I have tracked down my problem, it seems to be a bug in my TYAN TigerMP dual mobo, that causes memory parity errors when PB searches the memory for cheats. Last time I buy a TYAN mobo.

if thats all you can do is hack a game software up your a looser, hacking up a game software to make trainers not much to say only your small time hacker and helping other to get banned from nova is all you can do. your really a lost cause.

I stick to my ASUS. Only problem is I think I might have stuck it with my screw driver when I was putting the heat sink on the processer.

theres always gonna be one

even with the best software in place...some ingenius hacker sort will come up with a trainer that cant be detected or will run inspite of the punk buster....

just my humble opinion:wave2:
