The JO Weapon Mod Switch will get you banned from all NovaLogic Joint Operations servers by punkbuster. We encourage you NOT to use this if you want to keep your account. I just recieved and email from Brad and Novalogic Technical support today on this subject. The original message from brad follows:

I and some other guys uses it also on nova-server (because we forget to turn off)
but it simply didn't work because nova doesn't support any MODs.. thats all.

okay...and how would I be responsible for what you and your friends created? I didn't get that person banned from the server, you did. Don't try to pin this on me or anyone else. If it has been proved by NovaLogic Tech Support that you will get banned from using it, then it will more than likely get you banned. It's done, just drop it.

Here is the thing ALL GAMES go thru novaworld do not be decieved by JO Pinger it automatically logs you into novaworld. it does not and can not bypass novaworld.
running a server on lan will also give you a ding by punkbuster.the only place you can run a mod a non bukbuster enabled server on lan only.

As a hostmaster for a clan, I've tried the mods, and PB did never mind me using it.
As a medic, I did wear armor, parachute and my G3.
Hooking up to a 0.50cal, gave me insane sniper opportunities, with the 12x zoom and +-500 metres adjustment.
Did never get kicked nor banned, on any server.

Hopefully, Nova will come with the patch that theese adjustments is server-side only!

Actually, I doubt that.
The weapon.def file is inside the pff file, and the file is over 200Mb. It would be insane, if PB should scan it, because of the size... it would defitinitive slow the comp down.(client)

PB, as far as I've read and tested, is punting when the def-files is just posted in the game-dir, and not in the pff-file.

Anyway... It'll give host-masters (including me) a hell to discover theese cheats, escp. in matches... AAAAAAAAArg!

if Novalogic done said you do you......you will get banned for it so sooner or later if they catch up to it. best not use it. JOTR & JOTR:E is not to be MODDED by 3rd party's you use it and get banned it in your own hands.

At least they've got controll of the Parker hacks, but this one is different, 'cause it's not a 3rd part softw and it's not running with the game.

Anyone with good contact's at Nova that can confirm this will be taken care of?

lightfoot its not just being banned from jo/joe
but a ban from one is a ban from all PB enabled games like bf1942 etc not only will you need a new game to play but a new puter. wait till nova puts thier blessing on it ,nova has changed its mind obout mods and they have a proceedure
to get them setup.its not worth the risk

I know what a ban is... BUT BUT BUT...
As a hostmaster, I'm counserned about it. As we know, Nova isn't the fastest working company. The fact that PB is working so well, is thanks to Even Balance.

But but, my friends. When PB is NOT, and I repeat, NOT detecting theese changes in def-files, 'cause it's not ment to, then what?
Sit and wait for Nova? Let Even Balance do the job? (Doubt that though)...

Any other toughts... and do not tell me about PB. I know a bit about it, than most of you...

Ok, there is no need to start an arguement. No one is saying that you don't know anything about PB.

Forget it. They don't understand it for us about what on that occasion goes...

its more then that i would getting banned from PB servers, and i get banned it for all their games Novalogic.Inc DF:LW, TFD, BHD, JOTR all so, i only have one account that cover them all. i all so get banned for BF: 1942 too.


really think this thread should be close or locked do to players may get banned for use or trying it out. this mod should be look as a 3rd party and Novalogic. Inc they has put their ruling on it.

novaHq Staff should close or close from all posting into it. one it may turn into a flame war and all so may get players trying out the mod. JOTR & JOTR: E are not to be MOD at all by any 3rd partys. game do not have a by pass log-in screen.

Hi,

A friend of my is banned in october 2004 for using the weapon switch mod.
Now we are trying to get him off the banlist, but as evidence we need the weapon switch mod which we have to send to punksbusted. Who can help me? Where can I get it?

nova has change it ruling on modes

Basic it is this way:
you make a mod and like to use it for JOTR & JOTR:E you need to post it up on a site send a link to them they will download it and check it out beside PB will look it over too if they give their stamp ok on it then it will be ok use with the game only with their ok on it.
