Hellfighter 07-19-2004 09:32 PM

is it more up to date as in patches?

Charlie Daniels 07-19-2004 11:09 PM

Like what do you mean? Yeah, it's more up to date, but it's a different program so it has it's own patches.

will i have office 2000 pro 2 cd set, Office Xp is it way better then the 2000 version as in patches and use of it?

i HATE officeXP. i was so happy when i finally got 2000 back.

it's hard to describe, but office xp uses every chance to get on my nerves, it's "arrogant" and quite a bit slower than 2000 (on my XP2600+)

example:
i didn't install the help files (unchecked them in the installer), because i don't want them. when i tried to start word the first time, it says it can't find the help files and wants to install them. no chance to get past that without installing the help

the decision is yours, but i think the trouble isn't worth it

use openoffice.....it's lighter, faster, compatible with Microslut crap and best of all will save ya 200 bucks or more.

hell i got MS-Office 2003 way cool, even outlook has a junk E-Mail filter builder into it with updates for it.

Cheif, i have to say i think you are the only person i have actually found interested in microsoft stuff almost anywhere on the net.

Hellfighter 07-24-2004 08:35 PM

will i have one Pc with Microsoft Windows: 98SE and XP Pro in one HDD how many people you know can run more then one OS in their 1ea system. thats right one HDD that has 2 OS in it will it dose have Linux too. don't care for linux to much.

will i can if i wish to do it i can run Windows: 98/98SE/ME/2000/Xp home/Xp Pro in this system if i wish to but it be better if i had 120Gb hard drive to do it.

I just wish microsoft was a little more cost conservative, but i mean if they were to keep the prices, they should have a lot more support features... i cant believe the bs'ed support system they have, you get one free phone call then you have to pay them to help you with something you bought for probably over 150$ from them.... just a little odd to me..

**Edit*:: You also wonder why there are like 2 known viruses for linux VS windows' 50 trillion viruses + security holes...

Day by day im thinking of switching my nice comp over to linux

Hellfighter 07-24-2004 10:15 PM

will the viruses have no then to do with Microsft it them fu hackers (Crackers) who make them up to F-Over the world as they like. its sad as for linux will they have not dig into it at this time but if they get into it you can bit it will happen

BeBop 07-25-2004 11:25 AM

the whole reason behind hte virus thing is for
one) they think microsoft is a monopoly and it is... and it charges to much, so they get revenge...

two)linux is free for everyone to use and as such all support etc is free and you basically find help anywhere :)
