Loading Maps/Single Player Missions

How come every time I want to play a single player mission and when I want to play on multiplayer and I click on the server when it has that orange loading bar how come everytime I play I have to wait like 4-5 mins? Is that normal or is there a way I can make it so it takes like 2-3 mins? or shorter time than that?

How long it takes to load a MP game depends primarily on the density of the map i.e. the number of objects such as buildings, foliage, vehicles etc., and the number of tiles the mapmaker used. The tiles are the biggest cause of slow loading maps. Tiles can be used to create the appearance of roads and to change the colour and appearance of the terrain. If a terrain contains grass, the tiles that have been placed on it will overwrite and blot it out. That causes additional load times.

The only way to avoid that problem is to choose a server running maps that don't contain a great many objects.

But the server itself is also a factor that determines how fast a map loads. A machine without much memory and with a slow CPU and hard disk will take longer to load a map than one with up-to-date hardware. Add to that the amount of bandwidth or lack of it and you have all the makings of a slow loading server.
