Have you tried right click>copy image? Its much easier than saving it.

i right click get the option to "copy" which i select..then i have to hunt for the folder i place it in only to discover there is no "paste" option available :( so it isnt easier m8y...:(

it has to be some setting i should be able to adjust on my end of the computer...ive tried 100's of sites and all only allow me to save as bitmaps..:( the default for the comp has always been jpeg :(

Ok even though this doesn't work with gif's it will work with jpg.

right click on the image, select save picture as, now it should already have the file name so all you should have to do is add .jpg to the end of the file name. And it should save fine.

Now as for gif's and the like, probably the easiest way to bypass the problem, in my opinion, is to right click on the image and select email to, and email it to your self.

If anyone has an easier option please let me know as well.

Happens usually when u have damaged activex componets.

On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
Click the General tab.
Under Temporary Internet files, click Settings.
Click View Objects.

There will be alot axtivex componets ...delete them all ...some of them are usefull (such as windows update activex) but when needed they will be redownloaded...

Restart IE and should be fine. If after a reboot there are new activex on this folder then run a anti-spyware program to remove any apps adding them.

Also make sure that on Tools/Internet Options/Security you have at LEAST the default level.
