I agree with GeeFuss. Too much contrast, and as a result of that your sigs main focal point is now the white "shape" on the left side. Not the name or the image of the soldier/hand/rifle.
But I do like the text effect, nice and subtle.

As far as the signature goes, not feeling it, as seeing lots of your previous work i know you can do MUCH better than that.
