wot programs do i need to make a sig and avatar

just wonderin wot stuff i need to make a sig and avatar coz i'd like to give it a go.
help me plzzzz

Any graphics program will work, I personaly use photoshop. But it's not cheap so unless you want to go the unmentionable way, or shell out major bucks you can use a cheaper program.

i use the following to make sig's
with these tools;
1.) Jasc Software paintshop Pro Vr 7 w/Animation Shop Vr 3.
2.) Adobe Photoshop 7.0.
3.) Microsoft Picture it Publishing Platinum edition

Resource
1.) PowerDVD to get some pic from DVD and use them have fun changing them look crazy.
2.) look around the web get some get ID's from doing thing with pic's.
3.) DVD/VCR/Tv-Card/Web-site's for info's and other buddy's like StevaB who has a lot i mean alot of info mostly on this subject

remark: what i like to do and i am not only one have a pic with sound in one package none out there sample .gif with sound or even .jpeg

i got Microsoft Picture it Publishing 2001

is that the same or is it not really the right prog. is their any i can download of the net coz im skint :-(
i might buy some coz im in to graphics and stuff and fancy doin it when im older
