Map building
 
I have mad a map but come in to a small prob?

I can get a blackhawk to fly then land..then using a play to trigger the heli to follow waypoint back to base then land. And thats it but i want the heli to take off again when some one goes in it...how do i do that can any 1 put me in the right direction or web page where i can get help from.

i had a little problem with that, too. i never bothered figuring it out, I just vaporized it and teleported another blackhawk to its place and went on from there

Very few have succeeded doing this. I would see it as probably one of the hardest things to do in the MED successfully.

Hi,

From my looking at the manual, it all involves triggers and events placed in a specific area.

Take for instance one map I've made with a Black Hawk hovering over water. A player can make his way out to the Black Hawk, use the mini gun against other players but I had to set an event because when the BH was killed, it would remain hovering over the water with no rotors and just an empty shell.

I fixed this by adding an event which basically stated that the BH would be vaporized if it was killed. Thus, the fix is, when the BH is destroyed, it blows to kingdom come.

The same situation goes for any vehicle. First, you've got to assign waypoints. Then you've got to set an event and trigger which states if a player is in one certain area, the BH will take off. It will take a little bit of playing with to find out what the exact sequence is because I'm still working within the waypoints to keep those buggers from going all over the board. You are supposed to place an area of 0 in to keep it on the straight and narrow but so far, that hasn't worked on my board.

One other thing. To get the vehicle to land, you will have to designate the waypoints to NOT create a loop.

You can set another trigger to make it take off again.

And to do it like Nova did you'll need a .wac - and I've tried to edit the .wac and implement it into my map - it doesn't work. I never succeeded sussing it out.

Isn't there a .WAC command something like.... ssnride. Which is when the player is standing in something.

If you want to have those cool BH events, just open a stock map that has them, then remove EVERYTHING, except things to do with the waypoints, and leave the groups, triggers, etc. Save as and export and copy the .wac and rename to your mission name. It may not work, or it may... ;)
