1 million XBox Live tags banned.
 

Microsoft has just banned nearly 1 million XBOX live gamertags due to pirated versions of newly released games. It is estimated nearly 2/3's of those banned had downloaded an illegal copy of COD MW2 and logged online before the game was released.

I say good job Microsoft. 1 600,000 x $50.00 = $30,000,000 in lost revenue for IW and they do a damn good job making games. If any company deserves their money it's them.

I'm all for it...the hackers with illegal games are usually the ones hacking the game as well and ruining the fun in a server.

I think they were let off lucky...Microsoft didn't deadline their systems they are still functional for offline play.

Good, Its ruining the games industry along with online downloads. If your stupid enough to do it, then you deserve to be caught.

Software/record companies claim that millions are being lost by pirate copies but they are assuming that people would have actually bought them if they couldn't get them for free.

COD: MW2 is the exception, right? :p
