i have a idea this is difficult how do i make maps isn't that easier

Scott 12-07-2003 04:53 PM

I can't understand the giberish above, so here is what you do. Download a map from here or any other map site. After you download the map, which will probably be a zip file. Unzip the map to the main dflw folder, the *.bms file should be in the same folder as the dflw.exe file. You cannot put maps in folders. You do not ever need to open the *.bms file. You do not need to "Install" the map into the game.

After you put the file in the dflw folder, open up your game and look though the gametypes list. The map should show at the top of the list.

If the map does not show, then either the author did not select map types for you to play when making the map, or you are downloading a map for a game other then dflw. You can only play dflw maps on dflw. Other problems could be causing you to not see the maps you have placed into your dflw folder. But that's for another time.

To make a map, start with the wonderful tutorials by StevieB and others right here on dfhq.net. I suggest you download the tutorial "My first dflw map in 5 Minutes" By StevieB.

where is gametypes list

TakerOfLife 12-07-2003 04:56 PM

like i open dflw and then i click on what then what and so on

Scott 12-07-2003 05:05 PM

Open Delta Force Land Warrior. First you will see a short movie, if you wish to skip this press escape on the upper left hand side of your keyboard. Click on the Multiplayer Options in the main menu. After you click that you will be directed to another screen. At the very bottom, you will see Host Multiplayer. Click this button and you will be directed to another screen. Now on your bottom left you will see a list of game types. That say Team DeathMatch, Team King Of The Hill Etc. Directly to the right of that you will see the maps availiable for that game type. If your map is for Team Death Match, select the Team Death Match game type on the left, and the map should be the first map displayed on the right hand side. Select the map name, then click Start Hosting.

TakerOfLife 12-07-2003 05:06 PM

Ok............. how do u make maps

Scott 12-07-2003 05:07 PM

You should not make maps.

TakerOfLife 12-07-2003 05:08 PM

Y not

TakerOfLife 12-07-2003 05:12 PM

well not really just tell me where i go and stuff besides installing the maps didn't work so i wanna make sum

Scott 12-07-2003 05:12 PM

Y not? Because then I have to try and explain the mission editer to you. And judging by the time it took to explain installing maps, which is probably the #1 simplest thing to do in the game, it would take about 2 years before I could teach you how to place an object in the map.

TakerOfLife 12-07-2003 05:13 PM

fine
