Way to change crosshair color?
I know theres no key for doing anymore like in DFLW with F3 but is there an ini or something I can edit like in GR and Raven Shield? you know like RBG colors?
I want my Green crosshairs damnit.Nova got me hooked on green in the first place now they expect me to use white ones? blaaaa Anyone managed to find the right ini yet? |
I just tryd changing the 2 to a 1 in the "dfv.cfg" file here:
// CONTROLS crosshairs = 1 crosshairs_color = 2 showgun = 3 picinpic = 0 And it did nothing |
try changing the crosshairs_color to 255 i something?

maybe u have to change the graphic file :/
i can change its shape but ihaven't tried to alter its colour |
Hey StevieB, please tell me how you (what file your editing to change the shape please tell me how I can do this..Also By graphic file do you mean like a targa that has alpha channels etc...?
If you can tell me which files I'll do a Crosshair pack in PS and send it to you to host here in the DL section P.S. make us some cool A&D maps like you did for LW please:cool: |
Hey man I found it!!! Im not gonna explian how though since this sort of knowledge can only lead to bad things in the wrong hands anyway.
This is great now I can get to work on that crosshair pack Expect to see it here first folks StevieB you probably already know how I found it etc... Now that I think about it there might not be a good way to distribute these crosshairs since theyed need to be packed into a big pff file and I cant think of an easy way to make that an easy thing to without some,Unless that is if the game reads tga's that are in the root folder first and the one you like can just reside there. Ill have to see... More to follow.... |

Thx I relize that but I only intend to offer the crosshairs and describe how to use one of existing the pff packers to install them.Im not disclosing how I extracted them.
If they want to use cheats like skins etc... theyll get no help from me thats for sure. Anyway for now Im just gonna leave the crosshairs shape alone and simply re-color them so that people have the old colors from DFLW to choose from.And Ill include the default original one so they can put it back if they want to since theres no easly way for joe avareage to back the original up. I might decide to,over the next few days, work on a costom crosshair set with choices that resemble the crosshairs in other games like DFLW, OFP, AA ,GR, SOAF etc... I'm just doing this because I know alot of people miss beeing able to have there favorite color crosshair thats all:cool: Btw I tryd my new crosshair out in a stat server alittle while ago and it didnt punt me so aparently nova doesnt mind altered crosshairs.Just player skins I think and like I said Im not doing anything that would help the lossers who'd use skins in any way. I hate cheats ALOT. just ask one of my OFP squadmates how insane I go on RW when I discover another squad using cheats against us in a match. |

Wow that is so cool how to change your crosshair I never knew you could do that in the game!;) How would people think that is cheating through?

because i guess it might be easier to see a target or something no clue or maybe they can make a neon green Target like all green like a green box with blue - - lines for the target point thingy lol

Ok man the "Colored Crosshairs for BHD" zip is all ready to updload .Actually its small enough to e-mail.
Where should I send it StevieB? I did my best to keep the ReadMe short and too the point. In other words I dont give any clues how to mess with any other files .Simply enough info to install these This one has nothing altered except the colors btw Green Blue Red Black Yellow Orange Purple White (the un-touched original for backup purposes) |

I just came from a stat server.Had my green one.Then stayed for next map.Spawned in with white. Im not sure how but the game switched me back to white I just looked and its still green in the file.Some sort of Memory or server side thing Im not sure all I know is this was a huge waste of time it seems oh well. (Edit) I was wrong read next page:cool: |
I did howver have the original white targa in my root folder at the time so it may have read that on the map load. I just removed it. Have to go try again

fewww thats all it was.So that proves my first theory correct anyway.The game will read the crosshair and use it if it resides in the root BHD folder but only starting after you load your second map on that server.
Actually this is a good thing for people who dont want to pack it into there pff file. Anyway it's still a go.Just need a host The zip's only 5.44 Kbs |
