New DFLW Update?
 

Somone posted there was a new DFLW update on some site and all the sudden every site has the news. The fact is, that there is NO new DFLW update. This just happens when you have the NO CD Patch Installed, why? Because there system that checks your version can't match the no cd's size with the size it should be so it thinks there is an update. How do I know they weren't just sneaky and added it in there? Because the version number would change. They won't just release a "Hidden update" and expecially won't release one without a new version number. This is how they track what they changed in the update people, use some common sence before you post some false news and make everyone update to the same version they had. :rolleyes: .

I also am convinced that at least some files got updated.
With this update i got a new ingame lobby.
I don't know if that's the only thing they changed.

Also i think that Novalogic only changes the version number when they build an updated DFLW.exe executable. So as long as that the DFLW.exe remains the same, version number will stay the same. Even when they change some other files, like the ones for the lobby.

there was no new update they redid the main home page to DFLW it only, they added some new things to it. in other words they gave it a new face left.

i agree with KInnes's post, nova tweaked the url addy which made a lot of our games useless until we applied said update, also made my dffavs work again as well, just my tuppence

The DFLW lobby changed and this required an update. The reason the update is big is because it is capable of updating a game directly from the original CD (hence why all the files needed are included and the size of the download).

The "new" binaries are exactly the same as the old and the only difference is you a new startup.htm file to point to the updated lobby.

Honestly, it is kind of lame that they did it that way. Would have been simplier to just have the lobby server redirect to the new page but go figure ;).

and they did add this new address in some case the fire wall is blocking it " htt: // nw.novaworld.net/NWLogin.dll i have tested can't seem to get around it to have the firewall no to block it. taken a break from it, did find a lot of Port it using but can't seem to know their 1st to last port no# seem to start from 1115 to 1302 they may go lower or higher at this time wish NL or NW would tell us the limit of them port to add to firewall and how to get around that address i added only can "htt: // nw.novaworld. net" can not add in the last part to it.
