Help Making Template Download Engine

Can someone please tell me where I can find a free or make a web template download engine?

What it does is, let the public see the web templates, and then if they like it they can download it by clicking on the image or link. You see these engines everywhere when u are looking for web layouts or themes for a new site you want to make.

Thanks:)

although it is possible, I hate to say I doubt that a script that does exactly that is out there. And if it is out there, then chances are it will probaly cost money. But HotScripts.com would be a good place to look :(.

i've looked hotscripts up and down, and had no luck. but thx for your help anyway.

Well its easy to make, if you just want a pic link to a file ;)

yeah just something like that. But, i was thinkin of addin like 200 templates or so, and the only way I can do that from my knowledge is by listing them on HTML pages, and i'll end up having about 50 pages or so, cause I don't wont to have a long page of templates (50 or so on one page), but I know with php or some other kinda script, it should be a way to just upload them, and then u'll be able to select how many you wont to display on the page, and you'll just have ONE HTML page that will handle all the templates instead of 50 HTML pages.

Now this is a suggestion but you can always post this on getafreelancer.com or scriptlance.com or go to phphq.net (panther(owner of nhq.net:))) and get it done. but that will all be at a price :( ... sorry man. You can always try learning how to do it your self.

ok thanks man.

I would suggest to lern how to do it, can du an automated one with mysql and simple php, just uploading the files.

PaFileDB would be suitable, its a file management system which is what you want, been around for years, is stable, customizable and secure..

Thanks Mike, I think I may be able to make something out of this. Thanks to everyone else for their suggestions too.

Forgot about paFileDB :) good idea mike. Yeah paFileDB is definetly very good, and it is even better with the fact that the user has to agree to a license to download, and that they can email friends and stuff. so it should work out great. good luck with your site, and maybe let us see it when your done ;) :gj:

BlackVentur 06-29-2006 03:43 PM

Most defintly. Question though, about the license, what kind of license would I type up, because, its not one set by default, so I have to create one?

Lakie 06-29-2006 10:38 PM

Well it depends, you have 3 options, dont bother with a license, use a preexisting license or create your own.

Best bet is to use a preexisting license, now it depends what you want with this, if youre looking to give em away and let them do whatever they want (including modify or selling) then best bet is GNU GPL...

BlackVentur 06-30-2006 12:07 AM

Yeah thats what I was consider doing, but where would I find the GNU GPL text for the license?

BlackVentur 07-26-2006 05:19 AM

Check it out now, sorry about the delay, just been busy with other things. I somewhat edited it in with my exsiting site to make it look somewhat better. Go ahead and test it out if you wish.
