tried another mars terrain
 

started with the pic that was released by Nasa and ended up with a nice terrain. This terrain is the chasma on the left in the greyscale pic.

I'm looking to begin terrain creation for my joint ops mod. I don't know much about it other than looking at the trn files and all that's related. I know the CPT files contain the hight map data, correct?

Is it possible to edit existing terrains in the JO engine?

you have to decrypt those files. i tried the ones here but they did not save any files, so i do not know if they work at all.
