I can't believe that it's going to be based on World War 3!

Well don't expect the fact that it's WW3 to make any difference in the gameplay. Expect the same 20 dudes on screen firing aimlessly, scripted explosions, and nearly-on-rails linear paths. Not worth $60.

LOL.. I still got Modern Warfare 2 in it's box, havn't got around to the install as yet,, but still blasting around in Vietnam 2, just luv the game engine.

hahaha, guys guys. I'm not like dissing on other games by liking MW. I do appreciate other games better that are less based on cenematics and such. but I'm just sayin, I'm still probably going to get modern warefare 3. you're right, the gameplay is probably going to be the usual bonk the gopher as enemies randomly pop their heads out of cover as you try to shoot their sorry little a$$es. but who know's maybe some of the features of the game could spark some interest...

I still think that BF3 is going to blow MW out of the water though.

I'll buy it just to finish the story. I think theres two types of games, free roam where you're pretty much left to do it your own way, and linear. There is no right or wrong way to do it, it all depends on the game and what suits best.

Modern Warfare is more like a movie than a game, you just happen to be inside it.

I would have to say that Far Cry 2 was the one game that was alittle in between free roam and linear gameplay though. :p

It's eerily similar to playing the call of dutys on normal because if you sit back, all of your bot teammates will push forward and do the work for you because the only time it becomes a challenge is when you push forward ahead of everyone else. The amount of effort in progressing is almost the same as working the remote to play my movie.

By God you're right, it IS a movie and you just happen to be in it! Totally worth $60.

Gentlemen 'WE' are all in it for the same thing....a good story, and a bit of action, ....
....I said that 31 years ago, about The Empire Strikes Back, and it's still the same stuff today, and Mike you are very keen on MW3 and you should be, but surely by now you are cautious of OVER expecting this softwares stuff,...we wait for your critism of the game.

My thoughts on Modern Warfare 3 are the following, Im thinking It MIGHT be like the earlier cod's IDK im just saying MIGHT, but if thats not true, there is still Battlefield 3, and Far cry 3!!
