Phenom Black Edition
 

Ive been looking for a processor upgrade (currently have Athlon X2 4200+ 2.2ghz).

Ill probably buy the Phenom but just wondering if anyone already has it and can recommend it more :)

I know it wont run to full spec because ive got the AM2 socket, but hopefully that can be a future upgrade, don't really have the money for both right now and christmas is around the corner

Never mind, think ill wait a bit. My mobo doesnt support Phenom II and i dont really want to upgrade that yet, so ill just hang on a bit longer ;P

you think you can upgrade the MOB Bois to support it?
AMD may have a bois update for the mother broad for it.

Nah i checked, theres updates for some of the Phenom's, but not the 2nd edition ones

I got the Phenom II X4 945 3.0Ghz and it's a great CPU for pretty cheap. The black edition is 3.2GHz has I believe has an unlocked multiplier. I'm not much of an overclocker so I opted for the cheaper 3.0ghz lower-watt version.

Cool thanks Scott. Ill keep that in mind, im not an overclocker myself. Might look at getting the cpu and mobo in a month for christmas
