not exactly, well, not the first versions anyways, M16A1's suffered constant jamming, a small clip, and a few other disadvantages, the AK barely ever jammed, it had a nice 30 round clip, compared to the M16A1's 20 or 15 (im not too sure) round clip, it could take constant beating without having to replace anything, etc etc.

yeah, the M16 has it's ups and downs as does the AK47.

The M16 is not as reliable as the AK47. with an AK47, there's pretty much nothing you can do to make it stop firing other that blow it up. lol. you can pack it in dirt, fire it until it's so hot you can cook an egg with the barrel and it just won't stop.

with the M16, small grains of dirt or sand can pretty much jam it. and from what I've heard, it was a major prob for troops in Vietnam.

the AK47 has a larger round than the M16. the M16 fires 5.56 and the AK fires 7.62. it's a much larger and more powerful round. but the M16 round has a higher velocity. the AK's 7.62 round is about 400 MPH slower than the 5.56. in any case the 7.62 round has sheer stopping power and causes alot more damage than the 5.56.

the M16 is alot more accurate at long range tho. and easier to control compared to the AK47. with the M16, the butt stock lines up perfectly with the gun so the recoil goes strait back. with the AK47, the butt stock as at a downward angle, so the gun tends to kick upwards when you fire it making it much harder to control in rapid fire.

so for great reliability and sheer stopping and penetrating power, go for the AK47.

for accuracy and range, go for the M16.

you are talking about the Vietnam M16 for reliablity comparisons, the M16A2 thats in use now is far more reliable than the M16 from vietnam. the AK47 is very inacurate compared to any version of the M16. comes down to a choice.. ill take an M16A2 into battle over an AK47 any day.

I'd probably prefer accuracy too. Take care of your M16 and it'll take care of you. :D

Yeah, they've done a lot of improvements on the M16 design, but still not as reliable as the AK47. :D

another thing I like about the AK47 is it has never changed. over all this time, there hasn't been much of any need for improving it. they have done some small improvements on the sights and stuff I do believe but the over all gun is the same as it has always been.

was taking a walk a few days ago around my back woods and this lil guy started following me. LOL

it was alitle on the skinny side but other than that it's a pretty heathy kitten. I've been feeding him and such and he's starting to get some more meat on his bones. so far he's sticking around and follows me everywhere. :D

I couldn't find anymore kittens around the woods. my guess is the foxes or coyotes had their way with the mother and the rest of the litter. so that's kinda sad.

i had a...lets just say interesting, day.

first, as i was going down the stairs in school to get to the library, this ugy i wasnt very fond of was coming up, so naturally, i called him "nazi" (he has blond hair and blue eyes) he hasnt done anything about it lately, but this time, he decides to do that shoulder shove thing (ehem, on my left shoulder, which is the one that i broke my collarbone on, and it is not ALL the way healed, but is pretty much there) so i, naturally out of being pissed off, punch him RIGHT above the temple (wish i coulda hit him with more than just half of my hand) so he starts yelling at me to not call him that, i said dont hit me in my bad shoulder, he said do something about it (which was kind of a dumba$$ move, seems how i just punched him) and we get into an argument while my gf was around the corner, and i shove him into the wall and, since i didnt want to get into a fight on school property AND we were near the stairs, continue on my way down the stairs, so i came to the conclusion that he only does stuff to me because i dont have any older siblings like my friend (who also calls him nazi) who has an older brother and could easily beat up the skinny little s**t that the nazi is....what a prick, and also, of course he goes for the kid with a not-yet-fully-healed collarbone!

then i come home and guess what i find next to my xbox? a "present" from my dog, a pile of crap, i just had to laugh at this tho, seems how ive never seen any of my dogs go up my stairs, lol

but yeah, how was everybody's day?

My day was ok, i had to do some shredding of my churchs stuff, for our animals, then i wanted to go help my sister-in-law out with some stuff, then about 1 hour ago, i started to clean the house :D Pretty awesome day 4 me :D

well I waited 3 hours in the DMV hall way tryin' to get a picture ID. than came home, did some chores and played with that kitten I was talking about earlier. and now I'm sitting here typing this message. :D then I'm gonna go play some BF2 COOP with about 30 bots on it. :D
