thats good news, but srsly gaiz, what strategy is there behind delaying PC versions?
|
I'm sure it has something to do with piracy. That's why companies typically release pc versions after the hype of the console version is died down... alot harder to pirate a console game..

there is more to delaying PC games than i know. i got a bit of an insight when i went to GRIN to test GRAW out. they were so heavily restricted by UBI it's difficult to imagine. but the console and pc games were ready to go but they just delayed the PC version and did not advertise it at all as not to take any attention away from the console version. maybe each brand has a specific advertising budget and they deem that the console version can make more money per sale? probably because the console games cost £50 and the pc games cost £30. but i'll never understand because i'm a biased PC gamer |
I think its about work. To sell large volume of units for PC you need a cross section optimisation. Not everyone has top end chips, and VCards. Bring out for a console you only have to get it right for the console. Easy and profitable.
PC games don't sell in anything like the numbers for consoles nowadays so I would wait a bit too. Let PC economics improve the average hardware whilst your team works on optimising an entire engine to run at different resolutions, shadows on/off, anti aliasing on/off, DX standards stabilised for that generation etc etc. Delaying a vastly profitable console market to complete substantial extra work like that would be daft in the extreme. |
console it basic one set of stander like if they adapt it to Xbox 360 and later on PS3. but most part they are all the same.
pc games they are so many type of hardware and DX 9c Vs Dx 11 now its the same game should be one set price across for all version of it. but face it Xbox don't like to retail cheap games for players to buy or for its windows OS system (Vista gimmick) love GTa games but not play with my brothers for a long time now he move away lol |
