DF2 items I am working on.
This are new items being added to the TXP2 mod(if the txp crew approves) that I am working on. Some of them are not completed, such as the snow brdm white is a hard thing to do in DF2.
http://img191.imageshack.us/slidesho...?id=ss0010.jpg Rather than just replacing skins these items will be added to the list so that they can be used right along side the vanilla items. So there can be a green BRDM next to a tiger striped BRDM. |
Nice skin work. pain in the but doing good vehicle skins.
Heres a good referance for common camo patterns: http://www.printmini.com/printables/mil/index.shtml Part of the problem with the snow BDRM is that its too plain. I would suggest a snow camo like in that link but make the dark splotches alot less dark and it should look alot better. |
nice job bustin :)
|
will the snow skin for combat track/ wheel person carriers (tanks/ trucks/ small person jeeps or hummers.
add some brown/ black dirt marks on the side less and front of it like a lot more, back side can look a bet dusty, snow and dirt (sand with snow mix-up so it's not true white then) mix in it. over all i think you did a great job here 150.000 gcoins to you bustin |
DF2's engine compresses colors to a 256 palette. So white's get blended too much. As said work in progress.
|
is it a fixed palette?
|
Yes and no. Each item has it's own palette.
However, when a map is loaded all objects average out a palette. (In software mode) If you have a video card (TNT 1&2, Matrox) that runs hardware then each item loads it's own palette. |
hmm that could produce some problems i guess. always get the skinning bug when i see stuff like this :D
|
It is a headache yes. As I said skinning white things is hard because you do not have shaders and bump mapping in DF2...plus the polygon counts tend to be low so vertices show easier on white.
