High Glossed

Does any one know how to high gloss those Bates shoes that you wear with the service dress? i mean gloss like how the Marines get them to be like.

Don't you use stockings to shine those shoes?

i seen some people dye the shoes then after use johnson & johnson floor wax on them, but really patented-leather shoes if the service have not change it rule's it look down on those type of shoes that has plastic (gloss rubber more like it) layers on them

dirty trick some have done to get the high gloss look:
glow-coat flooring wax and higher gloss shine on them, but there is a draw back to using glow-coat on the shoes if they get wet by anything at all they turn milky white. plus over a time it dry and crack the leather as will in the end the shoes are trash

step
*dye the shoes
*wax them down using shoe wax polish
*use a flooring wax like Glow coat dry in minuets to get that high gloss look on your floors, only use a cotton ball and put some of it on the cotton ball and wipe the shoe down with it. repeat this till the whole shoe look highly glow.
draw back the shoes will only last about haft a day and the glow coat will flack off the shoes
the shoes are still usable and redo this again and again! maybe 6mo shoes no longer anygood

keep inmind some look down on this as dirty way getting it looking great, i like split and shine my self take 2-4hrs get them look the same

but with glow-coat floor wax it taken 5-10mins get it looking high gloss as if there was a layer of melted glass on them

It's called a spit shine! You literally spit and shine with your hand. The real glossy shoes are patented leather that the Marines wear.

not meaning to turn people away from the Id of really doing a spit shine on their shoes in old days yes that was the way to do it

but today were people do spit shine they use water in a small cub and a clean rag (t-shirt) & shoe polish wax in a can

rap the rag ether around all your finger or 1-2 finger on your hand, then dip the rag in to the water lightly wet it tip and then take up some shoe wax on the tip of the rag working on a small area on the shoe then go out ward, as each area become shinier. work a bet longer the shoes or boots become high gloss.

but if you do it too much (shoe shine wax layer become deeper) and the wax builds up to much it can flack off too.
then you may have people saying you using glow coat on your shoes...

basic before one do a spit shine on their shoes or boots they should wash them off with some type of leather cleaner and let them dry off for whole day or over light, then dry the shoes/ boots black or what ever the color you like with matching shoe wax to the dye you shoes or boot so it match up it.

don't use any type of cleaner other then leather soap like in saddle soap you may find at a local store that sells shoe polish at

it take longer but you have more pride in your work you did making them the right way...

after a time you can do it faster when you get use to do a spit shine

faster way get the shoe polish wax to build up is melt some shoe polish, over a small flame till it melt down some
(when you start to see it smoke some stop heating it up very flammable), then dip the wet rag in the shoe polish to get a deeper gloss shine done faster on the shoes/ boots.

US-Army now days don't spit shine their combat boots, but some do spit shine their dress shoes. count on the stander today combat unit.

i use to keep a extra pair of spit shine dress shoes and combat boots seating to one side always ready to show off.
