if your phone is on the national do not call list and they are in the united states you can get the phone company to terminate all their services and get the us attorney general after them... also if they are certified Microsoft partners and their just trying to sell their program you can get Microsoft to terminated their partnership and maybe all their certifications and software licenses which means all their computers stop working...hehheeheheh |
I'm on both the National & State do-not-call lists, but it probably doesn't matter to these people. I do believe Microsoft has been notified and probably won't do anything about it.
Check out the responce from others who have been contacted by these scammers: http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-253-802-0308 |
you don't know till you try ...I have done business with a Microsoft partner and he did not fulfill his promises to me as a customer and I am still tempted to contact Microsoft
and muddy his good name with Microsoft... |
hey I got my warranty replacement asus amd mobo a week or so ago...
and to day I bought an AMD FX-8350 4 GHZ 8 core black edition cpu I cant wait to see it rock...... |
Microsoft only responds (Tee! He! He!) to direct requests and does not solicit services to customers at the end user level.
Pity you can't Sign their number up to all the phone services you can... LOL, a phone sex service. |

And how did they get my name and phone number from an IP address? Lol, I'm tempted to unblock the number and have some fun with them !!! |
They Only have to call a random number and hope that someone will fall for the scam

Social engineering - the victim cooperates, best way to get past security. New trend away from hard cracking.

Some cases of insider crimes carried out inside trusted companies and also legit companies with clauses regarding the distribution of data to associated firms for marketing...Marketing Lists like that are quite prevalent today. :( |

They phish for a Random name and number hoping to catch someone. So what they did was find my name and phone number and hope to hook me to their scam and their so called event reports. They can't know my IP address from my name, so if call their bluff and ask them to provide my IP address from the event error reports that were sent back to MICROSOFT ... then they can't . Right? |
That would be my guess at least, unless they have some other way of getting all the info?

and ip addresss...there is software to get your ip address but it don't know you or your phone # so ppppptttttt....on them... |
Thanks .
So if I ask them for my IP address, and my ISP then they shouldn't be able to give me a correct answer. I may unblock their calling number and just play around with them for a while, lol !! UH ... what's a error erport ? Who is Microsoft ? What's a start button ? What does a virus mean ? Lol !!! |

is assigned a block of IP addresses but not your name or phone number your ISP privacy policy prohibits releasing that info unless its by a Gov. search warrant...or they get hacked... |
