internet service type

tell other so no one find out the hardway

1.) dish network internet (hughes net internet) (home> satellite internet> earth back again)
they say its fast as 4g, this is not so their ping is 500ms-800ms ping, not counting if it over case, cloud cover, stormy out side. not totally bad to watch video but it may hang a bet reconnecting.
btw i seen it go as low as 16kb speed at speedtest.com

2.) dail-up internet service can be 300ms-1200ms pings lucky you be connect 2-3hrs you may get bump off.

3.) cable service internet 25ms-120ms not to bad for playing game, but not great to host game on ether 8players ok, but more may lag a bit.

4.) DSL unknown to me

lower the xxx.ms ping be better its for playing games online

no id how cellphone be on ping for internet, but i think it be costly unless you play games after hours or air time may charge could be high $$$$

anyone like to add to this go for it

btw my system is wireless

really sucks Rated F

Rated A unlimited (internet) data steam
cable service in general not that bad
========
unlimited dail-up internet service general avg 2-3hrs connection time, avg 350ms to 900ms (most part around 350ms) ping
but download and upload speed in-general sucks

gamers using internet service should check around before thinking of playing any games online and see what will do them the best

I just moved into my new house... My internet is pretty slow again at 5mb/s and 0.5/mbs upload.... The only thing out here is DSL so far. Cable is only two blocks away but it's probably a couple years before we see them in the area. I hope it's soon because I really miss my 50mb cable connection!

My speed was guaranteed as 30 megs. My ISP is COMCAST.

That is what I get ... unless I upgrade to business class.

I usually get a ping of 17 ms.

I guess I get what I pay for.

But compared to Hellfighter ... I shouldn't complain.

As an edit ... I did upgrade my router ... I added a duel channel 5 gig router. It did make a difference in my gaming !
