HELP D2 no video got sound!

I was playing fine the other day .. then I made the mistake of trying to update a video card. YIKES! Now when I start the game BLACK screen. If I wait a minute then hit the keyboard like I can see, I can hear the game running but no video. Also if I ctrl alt del , then in task mngr I can see that BINK video player is not responding. what to do? HELLLLLLP!

if the BINK player is playing up, the best option might be to reinstall df2. just backup your saves/profile or whatever you want. uninstall, delete the DF2 folder and reinstall.

were you updating vid drivers or replacing the card?

ABettersoldier 07-17-2008 11:31 AM

I actually clicked on reinstall driver.. and now i have in my tray an icon for Intel(R) Extreme Graphics. That was never there before. I tried unistalling and reinstalling DF2 same problem. Also when I reboot the comp I get a screen that says windows found new hardware and must reboot to install software..so I reboot . its an endless circle every time I reboot I get that message . My monitor clicks off and on 3 times rapidly now when I reboot..I hae tried uninstalling the Inte Extrmem Graphics but it keeps comming back. My computer seems to run ok otherwise. I really am stumped as to what I did! I go to run and type dxdiag and it tells me I have some problem with 3d. but i cant figure out what to do from there.

guy are you running the game with the on mother broad Video chipset or you have a real Video card you can pull out and put in by hand?

look like your running the game off the mother broad video chip and not a video card after all.

mother broads video chips always suck they are low end for desktop like in a account office person would use. most of the time people buy a new video card and Uninstall the mother broad video chip then add-in a video card totally with all the drivers come with the card as will.

Video cards type: PCIe 16x, PCIe 1x, AGP 4x & 8x, PCI card slot as will.

if all the slots are open you running off the mother broad and be real Intel Video chipset really really suck. i have one i gone out and buy a Video Card PCIe 16x its sweeter now

its normal to buy item to get more out of one own computer system! plus buy goodies for the computer is wicket as will you can do a lot of things with it, buy item for it. like a stereo system one can add new items to it same for a computer. don't trash it buy some things for it make it even better.

trash it you lost the joy of it and the money as will

i even seen a LP Recorder player that plug-in to a USB Port to the computer and other things as will.

ABettersoldier 07-18-2008 11:43 AM

yeah I think i will go buy a vid card for it might just solve the whole thing .... I hope!

atholon 07-18-2008 06:22 PM

I would, integrated ones suck anyway.

atholon 07-18-2008 06:23 PM

You could always go try and let the system reinstall it. Not sure if it will work for you. Go into device manager right click on what's under Display Adapters and click uninstall, then restart the computer.

ABettersoldier 07-18-2008 11:04 PM

I have tried uninstalling it. that wont happen! I tried reinstalling. what ever I do...DF will NOT PLAY.

Chrispy 07-19-2008 12:18 AM

An integrated chip should still run DF2. DF2's an old game. (Maybe unless you have a really really incapable chip.)

I'd get an actual video card in and see if the problem still persists. Getting a new video card is better in the long run, anyway. ;) :)

Hellfighter 07-19-2008 12:19 AM

will if you buy a video card try to buy one with 512mb or more to it even better

64mb or 128mb video cards don't do so good with some games still.

what type of Video card slot you have on your mother broad off hand?

atholon 07-20-2008 09:03 AM

It would be nice if we knew the motherboard model number then we could help you find a decent card that will work in your system.

If it has the older version of APG some cards my not work in it.
