BHD hosting problem, "bad key"
 

I try to host a BHD server and the only way people can join it is by logging into nova, why is this? It says bad key or incorrect key... I never had this problem with LW when I hosted.

When did you purchase BHD? You might've gotten a key from somebody that was banned.

Supposed to have been a new game when i bought it. If i can play stats how can it be a banned key?

All servers have what is known as a nova key - its a 4-digit number.

That 4-digit number changes every time you start hosting. If players have your server on a pinger favorites list, the current key is saved. When you restart the server, the key your server has won't match the key that your visitors have saved in pinger.

Thats when you get the error Bad Key.


All players have to do is re-add your server to their favorites list.

Or, you can use the server manager Anaconda, which will lock that 4-digit number to 0, making it so that as long as your IP doesn't change, once the server is added to pinger, it is valid all the time.

There is the server manager put out by babstats.com, but I don't know if it locks the key code.

I'm using the latest pinger and i have tried removing the servers and re adding them, but it's still the same. I still get the bad key received message. I guess i'll try the anaconda forums. Thanks.
