Look what i just ordered

Warning: This is a major ego-boosting post

This 65lb moster costs 400AUD to get it to me alone, it a stunning handcrafted Suitof Samurai Battle Armor!!

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Oda Nobunaga (1534 -- 1582) played a key role in shaping the course of history in fuedal Japan. His policy of unifying a country controlled by many fueding daimyo (warlords) was furthered in a series of victories characterized by brilliant tactics and the first organized use of firearms. His unification policy became a reality under his successor, Toyotomi Hideyoshi, shortly before the end of the 16th century. Our battle armor, constructed by the craftsmen of Hanwei, is the Yukino****a Do style, having largely solid vertical plates around the torso and incorporating all of the elements of a suit of armor of the period. The crest of Oda Nobunaga is mounted on the helment. The armor is wearable (within a reasonable size range!) and is supplied in the traditional lacquered armor box, which, along with a a wooden frame, provides the support for the stunning display.

I wont be able to wear it, but then again im not a samurai either :D

Not as such, its made by the same people who ive bought s couple of swords off of, its not like its a one off, but due to the handmade nature theres only so many the can produce.

I havent quite figured that out yet, my sis has just moved out so im thinking about invading that room and turining it into my collection room...

@voodoo - already have had hancrafted high carbon steel blades sword, a matching Katana and Wakishashi

SilentTrigger 10-07-2005 06:19 AM

Wow awsome! Would love to see your whole collection of samurai stuff, i've always been interested in that stuff and would want to have a real asmurai sword crafted on the old japanese tradition!

Lakie 10-08-2005 01:55 AM

my samurai collection isnt the great at the moment, but this will certainly help :D

These 2 are my two best swords, ive got some other decrotive swords but there are functional, ive also customized them by changing the tsuba (handle guard) from the sunburst design to a crane design like http://www.japanese-swords.com/tsuba.../pages/122.htm

ive also got the characters Fu Rin Ka Zan written in gold leaf if the saya (scabbard). FuRinKaZan means

Swift as the wind
Quiet as the forrest
Fierce as a fire
Steady as a mountain

and if you go to http://www.unitedcutlery.com and search ronin in the top right search box ive got most of them too.

SilentTrigger 10-08-2005 05:58 AM
