Nova's worst effort to date?????
 

I finally got round to purchasing Joint Operations only to find that in my humble opinion it is by far their worst effort to date! There is no single thing I can point to that explains why I feel this is such an awful game but after 3 hours of play on various maps I came away with a feeling of absolute boredom and dissapointment with the game.

It's (again in my humble opinion) no where near as good as Battlefield Vietnam and I think they (Nova) could have put a lot more effort into this latest Delta Force outing instead they've created a tedious game with no great merit.

As I've said this is my personal opinion but the game has been removed from my PC and will be returned to the store forthwith.

Come on Nova! Surely you can do better that this????

did you post it up in their tech support forum at www.novaworld.com and told them about what you think of it.

stores in my area they say if you break the seal it your for good they will not take it back at all, only way they will if the Cd is broken then they will exchange it for another or refund the money on it.

glade i hold off on it, still planing on getting it but later down the road.

right now i really think about getting Battlefield: Vietnam i have BF:1942 all up to date

im still waiting for my chance to try it out :(

I love JO and i beta tested it, but BF1942 i think is better lMAO but BFV is great you guys should give it a whirl

Hey Baddog I left Friction to concentrate on the Battlefield series of games with my team the 1st Hussars.
A fair few Friction loved the JO Demo and played it to death.

I bought the game inspite of myself and I have been proven both right and wrong in equal measure.

I was in a huge server playing Team Deathmatch and it was so bone I left in a huff.

Then I went to Frictions server (Called Friction) and it was 36 people playing TKOTH.
This was a different story altogether.
I found myself playing for 3 hours solid, changing class and weapon, moving from zonie to zone assault, to rapist to dead-ground patrol and PSP protector as and when the mood took me.

It was great fun and now me and a couple of Hussars have the game too and play with Teamspeak as a little fire team that raids servers and (tries) to work together for the good of one side.

I would give it a go matey and look out for Friction server playing TKOTH. Its a different worthwhile game.

Do you play in a clan with Teamspeak? Its a different world when you are cooperating and bantering too.
I think you should visit HGG at http://hussars.org.uk/ and join the forums there.
We have a little clan but the Gaming Community is where its at there. I am certain you could be online with some HGG raiding a server and playing together and understanding what JO can provide. (Which is a lot more than I gave it credit for)

I have similar views to you and they havent changed much but the game is not a total washout buddy.
PM me your MSN too. It would be ridiculous to lose you from the community if you are missing out on the best part of it.

I own BFV and JO full versions. I tried to play BFV but I just couldn't get into it. I have maybee 3 hours logged in total, and I got the game right when it came out. It has just been collecting dust the past few months. The music on the vehicle radio's in BFV is pretty neat and some of the weapons were fun to play with. But the novalty wore off quickly and it just became boring. The balance in that game is horrible, certain vehicles are way to powerfull, the bases get taken over way to easily and quickly, and the fact that you can take over any one of the bases at any time leads to no real central battle point with a lot of action. All of the above just leads to crappy gameplay and a low fun factor. Sure it's more solid and less buggy, but to me at least, that's not enough to make a game fun to play.

Joint Ops sucks, no butts about it, i think one of the biggest game producers just ****ed up.

Playing tonight in Frictions server, we managed to get four of us on the same team.
Its a different game when you have a small fire team playing together, it really is.
