Blank Screen with Windows XP

Hey everyone,

I recently re-installed my copy of delta force for a summer of fun, but after I choose a server, my screen goes blank. I tried running the game in a windowed version, and it just shows the "preparing for battle" screen and nothing happens. I have made all of the updates from novalogic and terranova, I have tried the compatability patch posted on this forum, I have turned off my firewall completely, and no luck. I am running windows XP with SP2, and I am using a wireless internet connection. As far as I know, the router doesnt have a firewall, but I could be wrong. Any ideas?

did you change the setting so it run on Windows Xp?

make a shortcut or go to the game shortcut.
1.) right click-on it.
2.) lookup Properities.. [click-on it]
3.) look up top see "Compatibility" [click-on it]
4.) look down the page see "Compatibility Mode"
put a check in the box
[X] Run this program in Compatibility mode for:
click-on the small arrow pointing down pick "windows 98/Windows Me".

now click-on Apply and then ok. you should be set.

DF: 1 was never made to run on Window XP. this is the only way to get it to work 100%

it is your firewall or router settings, if u have turned off your firewall then it will be in your router settings, it may be that u need to enable the dmz or just lower the security setting enough so that u can play the game, I know if I wanna play df1 thats what I gotta do or I will get the black screen as well

go into your router settings it should be something like 192.168.0.1 or close to it and change some settings

I got the same problem, But, I can't even start with the INSTALL.
[ 16 bit Windows Subsystem ]
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'CLOSE' to terminate the application.
