[DFX2] Where did it go?

When I was writing a new map I had 3 (three) enemies selected. I went to use the ctrl+c key to copy the enemy, but I hit the ctrl+v key instead and the selected enemy disappeared. where did they go? I did a search for their SSN # but their not on the map any longer? the keyboard picture nor does the manual state anything about CTRL+V.

ctrl+c = copy
ctrl+v = paste

The objects were most probably deleted.
