BTW you might find GRUB handy and there's a few other toolkits around that help manage partitions including managing and booting VM's from the consol (or is that terminal ?) or other external sources.

I have a tool somewhere that runs from a USB and does it all, you might be able to get that and other tools by installing SARDU on a windows partition.

I suppose I have become 'accustomed' to LW and TFD... lol But, after experiencing the difference in graphics in BHD, I would certainly be interested... even if its only to finish the first sample mission... lol

Sorry, speaking about variables I was off the mark a bit, I had a look through all of the games and there's no vars (except for campaign vars) until BHD.

The one exception is Armored Fist, and it's surprisingly flexible.

So that actually perked my interest in that one.

So if you want to use vars then I'd recommend BHD or higher, as for BHD to use custom files like the WAC, you need the /d argument or you can download some of my BHD tools that start it with all of that set and other stuff to assist the mapper.

Further to that, if you can go higher, with JOTR and on up you generally don't need any switches to run custom files with the game.

Cool. Thanks for the update.

On a side note. Linux Mint has Oracle VM5 in it's repository. Installed without a hitch. I found my ISO images of XP and 7. Both installed into VM flawlessly. If I can find my BHD disc I will try installing it... (stored somewhere after it died running via Wine... lol)
