best place to start

just need a little help starting off TBH :/

any tips on where to start of so vitals to learn early on etc?

books, sites?

PHP & MYSQL FOR DUMMIES. I'm using it, it's teaching me PHP 5 and whatever the recent version of MYSQL is. http://webmonkey.wired.com has good online tutorials but they don't teach u important little things. Next ask in forums. I may not have it down totaly yet but this is what i'm doing and i'm getting reallly far. :arrow: :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

i also recomend getting crimsoneditor www.crimsoneditor.com makes php a whole lot easier to read than notepad

Do what i do, download and poke around in p's scripts (i recomend the squad site) There layout means it easy to read...

A good community forum is http://www.phpbuilder.com/board/ got some good help and suggestions on there.

hi there im new to php but have done a few tutorials now and am picking it up fast as its similar to visual basic coding. Is there away i can test my code offline as im getting fed up having to upload to my server all the time

PHP-Largo is right, i am reading the same book, janet right some good examples in that book... i suggest reading that book... help me a whole lot!!

wot book is it? how much? im leaning php too, but i usually look on the net or look for scripts and just browse thru the source to well, learn it.. is the book much better than anything on the net?
