Fireblade, id make sure you downloaded the version for the full game, sounds to me like its either a corrupt dwonload and is mising a few files, or your trying to install a demo mod in the full version, ie why you got the error you did.

Well, I downloaded the full version twice now, and both times the same problem. I have both mods on my computer, the demo and the full version mod, as I have both the demo and the full version of DFX on my system as well. The demo mod works fine, only the full version with the problems. But, I have not had an issue at all with DFX running it without the mod, only with the mod do I encounter the problem.

Bug fixes: No longer freezes when trying to join games, Spectator mode and side password menu has been fixed. Profiles are now savable from the X-Operatives menu.

I suggest a clean install from scratch for this update as several things have changed to improve game playability. Opplogize for any inconveniences caused by the bugs.

the XOv2 version also includes the wolfrat patch for DFX *located within a zip folder in your XO mod folder after installation.

XO-Mod.zip is name for both to save people from getting them mix-up

XO-Mod_dfxretail.zip

so people right one and not think if they got the demo version or the full retail version they need.

Anyone know what the following files are for in DFX?

C:\program files\novalogic\delta force xtreme\*.mdt
C:\program files\novalogic\delta force xtreme\*.ptl

when I run the XO mod for the full version of the game, the BAT file says it cannot find these, any ideas on what or why I don't have them?

I have installed this mod 10 times now doing any and everyway possible I can find, no luck and I want to play it!!!

I believe .ptl is something to do with particles and effects, and .mdt? I dunno - I know they're larger than most files in the .pffs...

I'm not sure about your prob - if you have a PFF utility, check in localres.pff to see if any are there...

Also, does the XO mod have a demo DFX and a full version DFX installer? If that's the case, you might be running the XO DFX demo installer for DFX full...

.MDT is part of a skin for objects, it is like a height map for a terrain and gives a texture to an items skin without making the object itself huge. change the suffix to .tga/.dds to see it unless compressed or .pcx based.

A .PTL is a particle effect, such as a sandstorm or an explosion. readable in notepad unless its encrypted.

have you tried installing from a different installer?

Chris and Jet, thanks for the input, I still however am not sure if theose two missing files has anything to do with my problem. My problem exists before any gameplay, since I cannot select any options to actually play the game. I am going to try something else on a different computer and see if the same problem occurs again on it, maybe it is just a conflict with my system, which I plan on updating soon anyways. Thanks again
