Biggrin my salvaged gaming rig

this is my new game pc that i salvaged. got it at the local recycling center and paid 4$ for it. i can guarantee that the person who bought it wasn't the one who hauled it. the guys who work there said a woman brought it in a few days earlier and one of them set it aside for me because he knew i was into that kind of stuff. system was probably over 2,500$ being it had the full upgrades and she might have gotten 5$ for it. the thing is not even 2 years old, will be 2 this October.

but it is an HP ENVY Phoenix. 32Gb DDR3 memory. Intel i7 4.0Ghz processor with liquid cooling system. Nvidia GeForce GTX980 video card. 2x4Tb HDD and 1x1TB SSD. Windows 7 Ultimate is on the 1Tb SSD.

it had been sitting outside in the rain for about a week i was told. the battery on the board had been wet so long that it had turned black. there was a little bit of corrosion started in a few spots and there was mud in the bottom of the case. i had to take everything apart and use a heat gun and dry everything off. i even had to take the entire video card apart to dry it out. that was fun being there was about 150 little screws in the thing. it took me about 4 hours to get everything dry, cleaned, and put back together. but it fired right up. was a little glitchy for a little while but runs like a sewing machine now. will run any game i got on full graphics without any hiccups. that includes the ArmA III game i got, and that is saying a lot..

12TB hard drive

I have a 2TB SSD (60% full) for games and a 4TB HDD (75% full) for storage.

Games now days like Rainbow Six Siege are 50GB+. GTAV is 75GB. I don't even bother downloading games from my home internet connection anymore (5MB DSL ). I do it all from work and bring them home on a flash drive.

If I copied my whole movie collection to HDD I'd probably need another 5TB of space. Eventually I want to copy them over.

i like cameras actually
actually its rather a question about the sensor and its size

https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanc...sorformate.svg

phone has a relativ small sensor
then it has aps-c
full frame
then medium format

there also some other example like a 100 dollar reader (for verification), webcam, fingerprint reader,tv (infrared often)

all got a sensor :-)

noise happens if the camera-sensor combination had to use a high iso

here is a good webpage for cameras:

also to notice the S9 at 1000 lux

U11 (only 300 lux more is better):

seems like phone pics are great on a phone screen, but even viewing on a tablet sized screen they start looking bad, let alone a monitor. but hey no one seems to buy pc's for the home anymore, so they don't notice. all they know is phone takes amazing pics, check them out on insta, facebook on a 5" screen. ... i'm just fussy :]
